woah woah woah, pump the brakes bruh, I'm already on this slope... Harmony, echo dot, and hue are plenty enough for my cheap ass. I don't plan on going much past this point.

Oh and I got a simple on/off wireless switch. Amazon reviews were great if that means anything.

Bro, once you're on the slope there's no stopping the slide.

Reason I say go with ST instead of Hue is that you can get zwave/zigbee switch (~$30) to actuate multiple normal (read: cheap) bulbs using the wiring you already have rather than drop $20-$50 per bulb every time you want to expand and also never being able to use the switch again. On top of that, you can always add to the network with other cheaper items like motion sensors, door sensors, sirens, cameras, door locks, outlets, etc, etc without dropping big money on wifi driven devices.

On top of all this, you can create and run specific recipes for specific conditions. For example, my house is set to turn on the entry way light immediately when I open the entry door if it's after sunset. Also, I have a routine that will turn on the alarm (running through ST sensors) system, turn off all the lights in the house, set the Nest to night temperature, and lock the entry doors with a voice command to the GH. Next thing I'm working on getting ready is a PIN code for the entry lock that only works during certain hours for when the contractors come/go for kitchen work. When the door is unlocked using that code, it'll automatically send me a notification that someone is there otherwise it won't do anything.

The uses are pretty endless at this point and going with zwave/zigbee is far cheaper and has less power consumption than wifi devices.

The only thing I picked up from prime day was an echo dot. Set it up last night....pretty cool so far. I've linked SiriusXM, pandora, NPR, etc. Any other must have skills?
