I'm not a commuter. I just need a PC (personal car) to get around town.

What are your thoughts on GIGABYTE mobos? A Fry's employee told me to stay away from them because they are always being serviced, but then again it was a Fry's employee who told me that...
He had no budget for a 1080. To be honest a 1060 would have suited him just fine. There were zero available the day I ordered parts.

750 was cheaper and still a good drive. I was shaving 10's of dollars to make a hundred bucks on this thing. A proper budget I would have made him get a 950 Pro.

I don't like Gigabyte. ASUS has always had better motherboards in my opinion. I don't know anything about their reliability.

I don't understand why people would source someone else to build a computer for them. I mean, all they're getting is someone ordering the parts and putting it together. It's not like they're building the parts from scratch.

Why can't they just google it and put it together themselves, lol.

Many times better. PS4 and xboxone were outdated even before they hit the store shelves.

I gave him options on different configurations. He chose the 1070 and 6700k over lesser parts and M.2 NVMe or more storage. He will add his own WD Black to it later. I personally only use about 100GB on C drive, but bought a 512GB 950 Pro for the speed. Nothing wrong with a 250GB primary drive. I asked him several times to make sure... he's only going to play Overwatch and browse the web.

I agree, but some people are just not that way. I also don't charge a huge premium and do my best to do better than most.

Got a 500GB 850 EVO for my desktop today. Should give it some more life. Running strong since 2010! Only upgrade is an R9 270X.

If said midget pr0n is in high def or 4K, then quintuple that storage, maybe 4 or 5 of these 13TB SSDs:

I didn't realize how fast the M.2 NVMe storage is in regards to read/write speeds. I am definitely adding this to my personal rig.

Some people are just scared they are going to mess something up and prefer to pay extra for the peace of mind. Pretty strange in 2016 where we have YouTube tutorials on pretty much everything now.

The guy I do the annual big builds for approved one for this year. Only thing I wish that was available are the new SM961 Samsung NVMe drives but I'll get him one later when they release.

Goal for this build is to reduce weight and noise. The 800D and 900D rigs I built him he can't even lift.
  • Intel Core i7 6900K 3.2Ghz 8-Core Processor
  • Corsair Dominator 32GB CAS 10 (4 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
  • ASUS Rampage V Edition 10 Motherboard
  • NVIDIA Titan X (Pascal)
  • NVIDIA Titan X (Pascal)
  • NVIDIA High Bandwidth SLI Bridge
  • Corsair AX1200i 1200w Power Supply
  • Corsair 750D Airflow Edition ATX Tower Case
  • Samsung 950 Pro 512GB NVMe Drive (OS)
  • Samsung SM951 512GB NVMe Drive (Game Drive)
  • Corsair H110 CPU Cooler
  • Corsair ML140 Black 140mm Case Fan (x5)
  • Corsair White Sleeved Cable Kit
  • Miscellaneous (Cables, Fans, Zip Ties, etc)

Still waiting on the motherboard so no built shots yet.
