Style 162s, tire sizes.

I'm buying some today. I am pretty sure they are staggered (backs are 255, fronts are 225).

18x8 front Et 35, 18x8.5 Et 37 rear.
If I am to lower my e46 sedan, would a 225/40 all around be okay? I'd prefer to keep the same tire size all around.
This seems to be the smallest size in terms of putting a tire on an 8.5, I'd want to go.

225 40 18 Front
255 35 18 Rear
This is what I'm running on my 162's. While it'd be nice to keep the same size all around, it just seems goofy on a staggered set up.

I have a hard time believing a 255 on a lowered E46 (coils) would play very well?

Really depends on how low you go. Mine is set up so there is virtually no wheel gap and fender rolling has made it so it doesn't rub at all.

Virtually no wheel gap, I'd want ideally. What suspension are you running?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't coupes have wider rear wheel bases?

My buddy who had a preface 325i had 225/40s staggered and supposedly rubbed with those on coilovers. At least "sort of." Of those coils, lowering range is 2-4 inches, not too sure how much he lowered, likely between 2 and 3. He wasn't on his ass lol. I think he rubbed when he had some sort of load.

I'd also be lowered mine likely 2 inches or so and still want to be able to carry passengers if need be.

Don't mind the curb rash haha, these wheels are my winter sets. This is my current set up. Haven't measured how much I dropped the car. Oh and p.s. This is not an xi.

It looks like you have the rear tires in the front and the fronts in the back cause of the wheels offsets.

I've asked a couple people and they've ran 225/40 on lowered E46s. With snd without rubbing. Intermittent. Damn, I dont want to roll fenders..

Fronts are on 5mm spacers. With maybe a fully flat rolled rear fender, I can put the rears on 5mm as well and get it fully flush

Volkswagen reflex silver or Ford silver frost? Bought some silver frost but after seeing a review of reflex silver, I want to buy that instead of the silver frost. What do you guys think?

Also probably going to get some of this clearcoat as I've heard all the other cheaper clears chip very easily.

My buddy insists I get 225/35/18. It's load rating is 87H. What do you guys think?

He rubbed with 225/40 and has spacers. I'll likely get spacers to fill the fenders.
