Rim/Tire Question

OK so I bought the VMR CSL reps little over a year ago and I am running 235's squared non-staggered. I would like to run 255's in the rear but have no idead how wide my rim is. I looked on the VMR site and it shows 8.5 being the smallest width, is this true? Would it be possible to run 255's?

EDIT: It seems I could run 255 in the rears with an 8.5. My 235 fit pretty flush with the rim already, would there be anything bad about fitting a 255? Also I dont have much rim/fender clearance with my setup, how would this effect it? would I rub?

Thanks, Ryan.

ooo, does anybody have any pics of this.... also how much would staggered rears only be from you guys? I am not sure what I am running right now but I have 235's in the rear and minor fender rolling in the rear. What wheel offset etc. should I use in the rear on a 18" rim and width at 9.5" with 255? I have a 2004 330i sedan.
