Unhappy Window issue?

My rear window is not working, but I can hear the motor making noise. Someone in my backseat may have forced it down? Not sure if thats the possible cause. When it stopped working there was like a cracking noise, and after I pulled the window up by hand, there was some kind of grease on the window. Wondering what the possible broken parts are if any, if its DIY and what the costs are. Thanks!

Probably a broken window regulator, its what carries the window up and down, they break all of the time. Look
It up "window regulator" on the forum. I installed an URO regulator I think $80 its a really easy DIY, an hour tops of you know what you're doing and have the proper tools.
