My Ride: 03' bmw 325i touring
Random parts/questions about my 03' 325i touring

im new to the bimmer world.....kind of. ive been driving mine for about a year now. havent had much problems just usual maintenance for a car with 120xxx+ miles. i really only have acouple questions but anyone is free to ask about parts/ fitment in this tread as long as its specific to e46 touring models

1 - i wanted to know where i may find all red tail lights for touring. ive seen acouple wagons on the forums with them. im assuming its a euro spec thing. but id love to purchase them for my wagon (USA/TEXAS) i really dont care if its against the law here haha i havent had any trouble because its kind of a mommy car. (no mods of any kind) but slowly im gonna start adding things to her.

2 - does anyone know where to find all black interior for a wagon?? i have grey and would like to convert everything to black. but ive noticed its rare to find the hatch interior in black for sale....probably because its the most sought after? and on the subject of interior where do i find black headliner as well??

3 - ive also been having problems with my steering. but ill read more about it before asking specifics cause im sure someone has answered it on here. but its the same as everyone else. steering kinda sways either way at 45+ mph; and when i go over speed bumps it feels like the wheels are gonna fall off.(shifting up, and down. or fowards and back(kind of a jarring effect) if my car is not perfectly aligned head on with the bump. but again no need to comment about that just yet. cause from what ive read. i need new suspension.
4 - another question i had is if one of my rims is cracked (lets air out over a period of 3 days to a week) would that effect the alignment?? ive read quite abit how an alignment (if done properly) can also fix the loose steering problem.

thx for your time and efforts ahead of time.

im not new to working on cars. ive built two rx7's from the ground up. one was a drift/track car (s5 convertible with a 13btt motor swap(thats a 3rd gen motor) and not many people have done it. let alone in a convertible. the other a 93' dd with some performance mods. i do understand bmws are a completely different bread of car. and im not looking to make my wagon a speed junky just an extremely clean/comfortable dd...maybe VIP it if money allows me to.

The front control arm bushings are notorious for premature wear on these cars, I wouldn't be surprised if those cause the instability you're experiencing.

For the taillight, or interior search the classifieds here, on Bimmerforums, or check on E-bay. Is the interior, seats, etc. different on the touring?

Front seats are the same as a sedan, back seats are different.

for OP, if I were you, I'd consider getting the headliner recovered by a professional. The headliners that are available now are getting old and tired and will likely need some work done on them anyways. On top of this, black is rare (I've never personally seen a touring with black)

If you were closer and had heated from grey seats, I'd buy those from you in a snap!!

i replaced the fcab's and breaks about 5000 miles ago at the dealership. and that fixed about 90% of the steering problem. but the steering still has a jarring effect if i run over long bumps on the highway or speed bumps....at all. (unless perfectly alined and going really slow). ive been considering it maybe my passenger strut. and im crazy and if im gonna replace one part of a whole. i might as well just replace the whole. so ive been looking at coil-overs. if anyone has a say in whats reasonable priced while still delivering quality please speek up and if anyone has anything to add to what my steering problem may be chime in.

just fyi I went to bmw and my fcabs were bad again......so they replaced them and my steering has since been somewhat normal. still need new rims and an alignment. but its all better for the most part. even bought some poly bushings for when they go out again. and ill just replace the arms when that happens too.
