Thanks for the info s1am. Feel free to post it. I'm gonna take a better look at it tomorrow.
Thanks, here are your questions and my answers in case they are helpful to anyone else considering. Raining here this morning but if it breaks I should have time to get some photos.

Yes and I can provide you a digital copy. This is also something you can confirm with the VIN through BMWNA prior to purchase if it will put you at ease. At the time they will also be able to confirm recall status

Sorry, sold the center console cup holder. EDIT 4/5: found a cupholder module while going through a bin of parts so I could include it with the car if a buyer preferred.

Just the container, it slides into a bracket under the front passenger seat. When I bought it the actual first aid kits were not readily available. I find it convenient to store my radar detector in when I park in a long term lot or the like.

Snow tires on rims are included. They still have decent tread left and seem to me to be wearing evenly. The Mille Miglias and Hankook tires will be included only at full asking price as they are awesome and I believe worth it.

The door, dash and engine bay VIN match up. This was all confirmed both when I imported the car to the US (by US ICE) and when I registered it in VT (by local LEO). Not sure where to find a VIN on door panels but the driver door is a
repainted donor as the original was rusty. The paint job is noticeable but really does seem worse in the photos than real life. I will get more detailed photos.

We had a dog for the first 6 months that I owned this car. I transported him to the groomers in the cargo area 2 or 3 times. You won't find dog hair or dog smells in the car. I do however have two little kids and they are messy. I will have the car cleaned prior to selling but in the meantime it wouldn't make sense to do a deep cleaning as they will continue to ride in the car and be kids.

Will get more detailed photos ASAP, might take a day or two. I will likely just post them in the FS listing to save me some potential downstream time.

Drivers and Passengers in the front and passengers in the rear have been replaced. All currently work without evidence of looming issues.

No, they are Suplex. I bought them through a CA distributor. I also replaced the rear shock mounts with the very much more serviceable units from Rogue Engineering. These allow you to replce the rear shock mount bushing without pulling the interior out.

Right one was done right after I bought the car (so 2.5 years and nearly 30k miles ago). The left one was done within the last year and 10k miles. The right one may need to be done soon (just based on my own experience of their lifetime. If I have a chance to get the car on a lift I will take a look and send you some photos of that as well.

Redline Motorsports in Hartland VT did this, along with most of the other work on the car. This job was done not long after I bought the car. The output splines on the t-case stripped.

Two things on the stereo (here as it is related to this line of questioning) that have manifested recently:
1. my ipod input (via SPEC USA) seems to pick up some engine noise, this happened to another one I had in another car at some point and I just haven't had time to deal with it
2. my right front speaker has developed some noise. Again, I would deal with this myself but no time

Pulls well without issues. I don't drive it like I'm 16, but it get's on and off the highway very nicely.

Recently I have noticed an occaisional uneven idle when coming to a stop and getting completely off the accelerator. This is new enough that I haven't investigated it yet.

^^^That's how you sell a car. Up front, honest, and detailed. Whoever ends up buying s1am's car should know exactly what they're getting.

does letting the car sit in the rain count as washing it?

Thanks for the feedback. Really just good thorough questions from another forum member (celsdog). I've done a lot of fly and buys and always benefited from honest sellers. Not sure how you'd get anything done otherwise, but I certainly wouldn't want anyone to be surprised at the end of an expensive plane ride to pick up this machine.

Sorry how dirty the car is inside. I want to keep it cleaner, but I also want to ski more than I already get to and I know what I'm doing the next time I have an hour.

Took a round of photos with everything wet and then the sun came out so I shot another few. Tried to be thorough and show the worst bits of rust as best I could. I hope no one is using dialup today.

Woke up to 3" of heavy wet snow. Figured I'd drive up the hill to our house site. It's about 1000 vertical feet gain, up a narrow twisty turn road. This thing makes excellent traction, but I was still real glad to have not swapped over to my Summer tires yet.

It has been warm enough these past few days for me to confirm that the AC still works as it should.

Finally got the inside cleaned up a bit, so here are some shots of that. Sorry for the string of photos leaking in. I guess no one will accuse me of trying to make the car look better than it is! Also, sorry for some of the blown out photos, it is hard to get good interior shots when it is so bright outside. Really just trying to show the car as honestly as possible here so I can find it a good home and move on.

Thanks.

I know it's a real niche car. Been great for me carrying two kids and gear around in the snow, but plenty of folks have no need of the wagon space, awd versatility or just don't appreciate the manual. Anyhow, I just threw my Summer tires on. Going to put photos of that in the first post just to better represent the current state of the vehicle.

Man.. I've been trying to find a 06+ manual wagon in the NY area for months now that isn't ridiculously overpriced or a horrid color combo. Just stumbled across this post and I must say it is tempting, the rust is scaring me a bit though.

Thanks for your note. I feel your situation. It took me awhile to find this one and only when I gave up looking for a pristine manual E30 iX, did I even consider the E46. It's been a great car. Would keep it if I could get the third car seat in nicely. May keep it anyway.

For what it's worth, I feel the photos don't hide anything in terms of the rust. Pretty sure that what you see is what you get on this one.

Best of luck in you search.

How far from Albany are you? I would consider a trip out to see it at least.
