BTW, you may need to request BMW get the local District Manager involved. These guys are actually in the field and should have some automotive experience and work with the dealers on a regular basis. They are typically responsible for 15-25 dealers in a region. I am pretty sure BMW's DM's actually personally show up once or twice a month.

The monkeys at the BMW NA office have NO Automotive experience, they are trained to just say "No". how do I know this, this is the reply I have been personally given by some of the fools in the BMW NA office!

I would put this request through at the dealer level and see if they are cooperative. You may need to bypass the Service Advisor and speak with the Service Manager on this. BMW NA monkeys do not want to get the DM involved because they may very well have their "No" overturned. Also the DM may think that the BMW NA folks are not doing their job. The dealer may tell you that you have to wait for the District Manager to show up to the dealer, but this BS as the dealers can get a message to the local District Manager and unless the answer is not favorable, then you do not need to wait to arrange a meeting with the DM.

FWIW, many years ago I was a DM for a US manufacturer so I know how most of this works.

One other thought, and BMW should be able to easily figure this out, if this car in question was a dealer Demo or was a CPO car the Warranty may be be extended as well. Something else to check into.

Again, good luck on this.

If the dealer/BMW will not offer to pay for this, I would then contact your insurance company and see if there is any kind of coverage that would allow the car to be totaled?

Otherwise it is parts car time, either find a parts car or sell your car as a parts car.

Good luck.
