Actually that was a picture (2) from the 750li where the alternator bracket meets the engine block (picture 3 is bracket with gasket and to the right is engine mount) and the oil cooler lines go into. All that crap you see is strictly oil. I've only put about 50 miles on the 545i since I bought it in Jan of 2016, about 125 miles on the 750li since I bought it may of 2015. That's right, double and triple digits. When I have a chance again soon, I'll get under the 545 and take pictures to show how easy the pump is compared to the m cars

Well ... that would explain why I couldn't figure out the angle you took the picture on the "545" - it wasn't that! I need to retrieve the 15+ minutes of comparing pictures with my M3, M5 and parts diagrams.

Interested in the real thing and will check in again.

E46 330Ci's came with the SMG2 transmisson. It was known as the SSG transmission, same as SMG though. Plus, the steering wheel paddles on the E46 330Ci SMG are identical to OP's.
