Swap leather seat for cloth?

Fellow E46 Converts,

The driver's seat leather in my 02 330ci vert is showing its age. I am wondering if there was ever an option offered in the US for cloth seats. If not, has anyone ever reupholstered with cloth? How did it turn out?

Thank you.

I support the idea. **** leather interiors. Freeze ass off in the winter, and sweat balls off in the summer!

You should contact an upholstery shop, they'd know better. Also I can't remember what his bimmerforums username is, but checkout his site for reproduction material, he supposedly just got some fabric delivered... http://www.bmwfabric.com/#!fabric/c1msv

I'm thinking if you got caught in the rain (it comes on QUICKLY here in FL), cloth would be a lot worse and take forever to dry out. If I get a bit of water in the interior, a quick toweling and I'm as good as new. If it's just the driver's seat, it could cost a lot less just to have that seat fixed. It's not just the seats that are leather....lots of other leather stuff in the interior if you look @ it.

You make a good point. I am interested in finding an OEM cloth seat for the driver's side only, if possible. In the short run, I guess I could just use some kind of seat cover.

So far I have not found any trace of a factory cloth seat for any E46 convertible.

Might have to McGyver something!

I went ahead a did a two tone on my seats black and gray suede with the rear seats black aswell. Only problem is that suede and cloth is much harder to clean than leather. Sometimes i wish i just kept my leather interior.
