2002 AW with Cinn 107k SMG to 6Speed help

Hello all,

I just got my new project car it's a 2002 AW with Cinn interior SMG
I really wanted a 6speed but I could not find one in decent shape for a fair price. I work for a dealership so I got a good deal on this M3 so I settled for an SMG. I paid to have the car shipped to Maryland from SC. To pass state inspection it needed $600 only so its not too hateful.

I am considering doing a 6 speed conversion and have a good mechanic lined up. Turn key operation for $2400. Not looking to have a really fast project car. I just want a really clean M3 that I can drive on the weekends.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you have done a 6speed conversion, how was your experience?

Do your research beforehand so you know exactly what is involoved in the SMG to 6-speed conversion. That quote sounds a bit high. Converting your 6-speed SMG into a manual 6-Speed basically involves removing the hydraulics and adding a clutch pedal.

Thank you very much for the link. I read it and it seems simple enough. What do you think a fair price would be?
