M54B30 Strange Knocking/Ticking Sound (YT video)

I would really appreciate if anyone could give me any advice. The mechanic says it could possibly be a rod knock?

Thanks

Check your spark plugs to see if any of them are loose.

+1 on checking for loose plug. If it's disa, unplug it. Noise would disappear.

Okay I'll check out the disa when I can but I think I already determined it wasn't making noise. I will look at it again though. Thanks for the advice!

Sounds like a loose plug like the others mentioned...

You need a new mechanic if he called out a rod knock.

He said it could possibly be a rod knock bearing but also said it sounded kind of strange.

Where would you be today if you had taken his diagnosis instead of asking us?

I'd go back to the shop and mention they were wrong.

It would not have been fun experience. And I have already told them what it ended up being.
