Angry 330xi engine knock rattle

Hello,

A little background, I'm a huge e46 fan. I had a 330 zhp that I cherished until I decided it's time to switch to an M3. Living in Canada, I decided to buy a 2001 330xi last year (mainly for our horrible winters). A few days ago my 330xi 2001 with 120k decided to make that horrible knock. I researched a bit and I can't seem to find anyone with the same noise my engine is making.

I don't want to risk driving the car like this to my mechanic, and I'm wondering if anyone would know what's going on. It it a bent valve? Rod bearing?

This is a link to my video

take a look at your water pump pulley and see if its wobbling, just a thought. the water pumps are pretty weak on the e46

Thank you, I will look at the water pump and see if I can find anything.

Here's another video. I noticed that the noise is not present right after you start your engine. It only starts a few seconds after. I feel as if there is something broken is the head that keeps moving.

Might be a long shot, but try unplugging the DISA and see if it shuts up. Kind of sounds to me like DISA flap flutter.

I listened to many videos (non e46) and I strongly believe it's a water pump issue. I will buy one and have a little weekend fun when it's a little warmer out
