Software/tune

I own a 2000 328ci and I just can't seem to find any tuning software I want. I have a buddy with an 09 wrx and he bought a flash tuner that goes in the dash and all he's gotta do is plug it into the computer and make changes with actually large power increases (though his has a stock turbo that can be tweaked with this). I've been trying to find something like this for mine. All I come across is the shark or the active autowerke ones. The shark seems sketchy to me since it needs to have a battery charger to work and if you breathe on the car during the process your ecu is ruined. I don't know much about the active autowerke though.

My main thing is how will these things work with mods to the car? Like if I get a bolt on mod or headers maybe and I do the shark process again does it adjust to the new parts to increase performance and prevent warning lights? Same with the active autowerke. They both claim around 10-15 hp but my main reason for getting one of these is so I can safely get upgrades on the car and maximize power without my dash being a Christmas tree. I'm just kinda in the dark with the ecu tunes and I'd like to do that before getting more performance upgrades. Any input on any kind of software will help. Thanks

If you don't want any lights on the dash then go with Active. From what I've read Shark will not get rid of the lights but it would be tuned for the part(s). I have an Active tune and I really enjoy it. And I have quite a few modifications to the car. The only thing is, I believe, you'd have to pay them for another tune to compensate for each mod you get. I recommend just get all the parts together and tuning it all at once. This way you don't pay a lot for tunes. I can't speak for shark though, I don't know how that works.

You actually understand, that to get rid off warning lights, they simply will be supressed, yes? So if a problem occurs, it will still have the very same consequencies, but it will NOT warn you. If thats a valid solution for you, stay with AA

You really need to do more research, they're are Countless write-ups on the Shark Injector about its ease of use & Driveability/WHP improvements.
