Buyers advice

I'm working now and I'm about to buy my first car, which is also gonna be my dream car.
i'm trying to figure some things out so i got questions that i need answers to..

first of aalll
i read online that if i want to ugrade the suspension and lower the car, i need to put in strut tower braces because of the "mushrooming".. which do you suggest? is ECS TUNING good cause that's what i was thinking..?

also, what do you think are the best sounding exhausts? i want it to be deep and loud but not obnoxious.. i'm willing to spend whatever on a new exhaust cause thats my favorite part

I want the car to look clean, and mostly original but i'm probably gonna change the front bumper and maybe the back. angel eyes and MAYBE eyelids... what body kits do you guys suggest or prefer?

i know that not every car is the same, but a lot of people have told me to expect problems with an e46.. before i buy the car, what should i pay close attention to when checking one out? and whats a good price for a low mileage? i dont want to be "tricked"..

everyone's telling me that i'm making a financial mistake but i don't care, i don't wanna hear that.. my mind is so set

what changes should i make first and foremost to make the cars performance 100% better? i want to feel every little curve in the road and i want a smooth ride... any other advice? i still got a while to go before i buy the car, but i'm planning ahead early early early cause the expenses.
THANK YOUUUU FOR ANYONE THAT ANSWERS AND HELPS MY POOR SELF

Maintenance maintenance maintenance.

When you find an E46 that piques your interest, post it in here and we'll advise you as to whether it's a good deal.

As for everything else, please search.

If you can't work on the car yourself, do not buy an e46. They are easy to work on but require constant maintenance. BMW has built a great car from the factory, there isn't a ton to improve on other than suspension and some exhaust notes.

Have money ready for a headgasket and new clutch kit as well (if paying for labour). Everything else isn't too expensive to diy or get a cheap indy to fix if you don't feel like getting under the car.
