Knocking coming from passenger side rear wheel

Hi was hoping on some advice on what could be causing a banging knocking noise on the passenger side rear wheel of a 2002 manual 325ci sport. Sounds like the bumper or piece of trim catching the wheel but theres not plus the noise is at its loudest on de-exceleration there's little to no noise on exceleration nor to bumpy road nor or turning make it louder also a squick has developed round the same time braking at low speed not sure if the two are related tho any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. William
