RealOEM versus my car - power steering reservoir labeling

So my current PW reservoir says "ATF". However, I am refreshing the steering lines and the replacement reservoir says "CHF11".

I was tempted to return it, but I had ordered it specifically off the RealOEM part list, and when you look at the list, it says "CHF11, S" in the specification.

Since all the lines will be replaced, I am not sure it matters, but does anyone see an issue here?

CHF 11 is for self levelling suspension but as long as you use ATF you should be Ok.

Pentosin CHF11 is the correct fluid for your power steering.

If you look closely at the bottom of the pic, it says "power steering".

If it originally had ATF in it I'd keep the ATF in there. The fluids shouldn't be mixed... If you wanted to switch to CHF 11s you'd have to flush out the whole system.

Good point. when I did mine, I flushed out the old ATF fluid and pour in the pentosin until it drains the new clear pentosin fluid only.

Some of the new reservoirs say CHF11. CHF11 is a specific kind of "central hydraulic fluid."

The power steering system uses regular ATF, regardless of what the new reservoir cap says. I think they all use Dexron.

I bought an OEM PS reservoir, so it came with "ZF" inscription on the lid, not "ATF oil only" as on the original one.
Ended up using the old lid with a new Viton O-ring on the new reservoir.

^This. Re-use the old cap so it doesn't confuse future refillers, but use the o-ring off the new cap, or a nice new Viton one.

When I got a new cap at the dealer, it said CHF11 as well, but had a sticker to be applied over top that said ATF only. So there's that.
