Oil Brands

In the past, I was lucky enough to know someone working at my local BMW dealership who would give me BMW oil for close to 70% off. Well now he moved so it is up to me to find the best alternative to BMW oil. I know a lot of this can be opinionated, but what is the overall best oil for BMWs, particularly higher mileage kinds since my car is approaching 160,000 miles? I have a 2000 e46 328ci and I currently run 5W30, does anyone else here have more success with a different weight?

There are many oil threads if you look for them, but any oil with the LL-01 spec is good.

This thread will probably get locked within the hour lol

There are tons and tons of oil threads. If you search you will find out more than you ever want to know about oil. You will also find out there are people that care more about oil than you ever want to know. If you can't find what you're looking for searching send me a message and I'll help you out or we can discuss reopening your thread.

Tim
