Rico's is Upgrading his HPF Stage 2 M3 and we're turning his car into a more potent street monster with 6766 POWER and an OPEN wastegate dump tube. He's also getting in on the HPF Oil Cooler Group Buy and the upgraded HPF Intake Tank Fuel Pump. His dyno graphs were a bit low but the compression and leakdown came in solid so the new numbers will be impressive. His car hadn't been driven in a long time so the fuel in his tank may have deteriorated a bit. We will have new numbers very shortly. We're getting quite a bit more power with the 6766 on all Stage 1, 2 and 2.5 M3's and the Open Dump option adds another 10-15rwhp as well. We will post up his results shortly.
Are you going to get your car in time for Aug 25th? I don't wanna hear any excuses when I'm briefly showing you my AA license plate frame on my trunk lid before I disappear into the sunset
No excuses. if my car will not be home by 24 August, its not getting anything more than whats already been done but...I can probably Borrow jesse HPF M3 ;-) j/k
nah, in all seriousness guys, i wish i could but i can not afford it right now.
I am tired of working away from my family, in constant danger, to provide my wife and kids the life i dreamed of or watched on TV
ALL great Things come to those who wait!
it took me 4 YEARS to get into a Used HPF stage 2 and still got screwed in that Deal or my car would nOT BE in the shape its in Today. i put like 3k miles on my car per year the last 5 years.
$10k on a built mOTOR would mean i have to stay another 3 months out here pressing my Luck. no way!
:censor: Afghanistan & Iraq!
not the people but the War itself.
sorry this is a sensitive subject and this is not the place for such a Topic.
Wishing the best of luck!!!! Actually, Kenton's idea is great since your car is up there I would get that build motor....and yes I remember hearing all those stories about your wife anyway when your car comes back home she ll be better than ever!!!
Lol...I'm saving weight for the track so I got a smaller sub. I can't talk, I went with lighter amps.
They have race fuel at the track...get ready for a $150 fill up. It does take cards so you don't have to show up ballin' like Tony Montana. I would ask some HPF guys who go the tracks with turns what they bring as far as info, fluids and tools. Its nice to be prepared for the minor things that sometimes go wrong.
I don't know about guys running HPF cars on the road course, but I always run race gas on my R32 Turbo on the track. Mainly for the cooling benefit as it does run cooler.
For anyone tracking their car I recommend adding a couple points of octane. So i would add a couple gallons of 110 to pump if you're running on the pump gas map, and 112 instead of 110 if you're running on the race fuel map. I also do not recommend running methanol at a track event as the fogger gets extremely hot when used for longer periods and hard turns will make you go in and out of methanol. Also remember to run your car completely out of pump when switching to the race fuel map. You cannot drain both tanks easily so drive the car until it says zero miles then drive it a little more.
For drag racing and street driving, you're fine running 91 octane and 110.
I sometimes ran race meth fully at the track but apparently it's not such a good idea... so I'll drop that and will only flip the meth switch (as I used to do in the the beginning) only when I hit the straights (and the straight in Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi F1 circuit I heard is one of the longest ones )
I don't like running the fuel pump on fumes. Last time I ran the tank down to 1/16 then put 10 gallons of 110L. Drove it in pump mode til it was at 1/16th and then put another 10gal of 110L before switching maps to keep the pump lubricated.
It's costly... About as costly as a new walbro I'd imagine.
I have never used meth on the track and nOW NEVER WILL.... Pump or Race fuel ONLY!
*Update*
No built motor This Trip!
so continuing on with the new PT6766 Turbo upgrade
Now, I am looking for a new Titanium tipped exhaust. seems like the D/S hanger has been repaired too many times causing the Vband to leak. that AP Gen 2 was $1200 and it has broken a hanger like twice a year for the last 3 years and i thought that crap was normal. i know now that its a design flaw. i hope HPFs Fabricator can repair it better then new
Yes, I can use mine in this manner just takes control.....of the finger:4ngie:
this is why i am having the snow performance "Low meth indicator light" installed to help me know when im running out or LOW on meth and turn it off in time
In addition to just adding more power with the 6766, Rico had us also do a bunch of miscellanous work to his car to get it back to flawless condition. We fixed a problem with his brakes, ball joint, added lots of missing fasteners, fender liners, windshield washer resevoir wiring, and we also did a leakdown and compression test to make sure the motor was perfect (which it was). We have a little more work to do on it and it will be on the dyno shortly.
We give our customers the opportunity to have things fixed once the cars arrive. Our techs know every single bolt, nut and fastener on the car and most customers choose to have everything put back to OEM before their car leaves our shop.
