surround sound question
I want to get rid of my rear speaker stands and mount the rear speaker in the ceiling.
I have a 2 story house, so cannot reach the rear of the living room from the attic. How can I run the wires throgh the wall? Fish tape? wireless rear speakers? |

Honestly if you are willing to rip out a small part of the wall running all the way down to the floor (say 6" wide???) that would be the best option. Any solution is horrific however. Most people do not have a proper HT because installation is too invasive and/or expensive.

Pop the baseboards off, run behind them, nail them back in place. When you get to below the point you want to mount on the wall, drill a hole and fish it up. If you have a non-insulated back wall, this should be a piece of cake.

Not for a rental. For my own home I have a full onkyo setup.

Wireless speakers aren't the best idea for audio fidelity because of potential interference issues. Furthermore, they aren't "wireless" unless they are battery operated.

Either go wireless or run the speaker cable under the carpet round the edges or along the top of the skirting board and paint the wire to match the wall then drill a small hole just at the bottem of the wall and then at the to where u want it to come out at tge top. Get a bit ofstring and tie a weight on it drop it down through the top hole don't letgo of the string though then reach in the bottom hole and tis your speakercable and pull it through. Then fill the hole withfiller and paint It. That will work if theirs no dwangs. If their is u may need to make a 3rd hole half way down.

Yes...I do think I hate you

i think the surround would sound weird being up that high for what is on/off the screen.
