hi i need help with my wheels ive seen same car having same wheels but doesnt look like this in the front wheels.mine are bowing outward but same car having same rim it fit it nicely please help me.and i need to choose my tires what size should i buy for front and for rear, they are bbs Rx 18"
We can probably help you a lot better if you post the specs of the wheels you have. Generally a E46 3 series would need a ET35 - ET40 offset in the front and ET40 - ET45 offset in the rear.
hey guys rear wheels fit it perfectly but the front wheels looks weired the rims are BBS RX 209 the specifications on the wheel are:
81\2J*18H2 ET10 RX 209
and the whole set is 8.5 inch in width so its not a problem of rear wheels are in front.they are 5 series rims but ive seen another e46 having 5 series rims but in the front they fit nicely,i asked a shop and he said they will not fit my e46,is there any way to make them fit? i paid a fortune to get them
Machining metal off of the back will raise the effective offset, however you won't be able to safely remove enough material to make them fit properly. You are directly affecting the structural integrity of the wheel by removing material.
I have the same wheels (18x8.5" BBS RX209 et10). 235/40/18 on all four wheels. At the moment my car is set pretty low on coilovers and I can't even get one finger between the wheel gap. I'm gonna need to play with the coilovers a bit and get smaller tires to fit better, maybe size 215/40/18.
Is your car lowered at all? I'll get a picture of my wheels.
Ok found my old point and shoot camera. I switched to smaller size tires. Cheap Nankang tires for now. The fronts are 215/40's and the rears are 225/40's. Sorry for the dirty wheels and bad pictures. But the wheels do fit.
