Current DME for 05 330i?

How can I check to see what version DME my 330i has? And where can I find the current version available from BMW? I don't want to pay a diagnostic fee just to be told that it was already up-to-date.

Current problems:
Several fault codes (281c, 281d, 27da) all point to BSD generators. In reading lots of forums here and on other sites, I have found that several individuals resolved the issues by updating their DME software. But seeing as this vehicle is now almost 9 years old, I have no clue when (or if) this software was updated last. Is this something you can check for manually or diy?

You have an 05 so if I'm not mistaken you have a MS45.1 DME (production 7-2004 to 9-2005). There were at least one, possible two updates that came out after the initial flash. Some of the things addressed were, OBDII comm bus issues, sensor operational ranges that were too narrow causing erroneous faults, and a stutter or hesitation around 2300 rpm.

Probably worth looking for someone in your area that can code your car. Hit up your regional forum and see if someone can help.

I have for sale the DME MS45.1 from my 2004 330ci. It was re flashed to new with current software by RPM Motorsport but I never installed it. It can thus be sync'd with the key and EWS in any car. Let me know if interested in buying from me. RPM sells these as new for $899. I would like $500.

How can we trust you? And why after forking over 900 big ones did you just all of a sudden have a change of heart

Good questions. I was going to send it out to one of the tuner software companies to have performance tuning flashed onto it while still being able to drive my car with another DME. However due to entering the divorce process and thinking about selling my dimmer too; I want to sell this unused OEM software DME for what ever amount I can as cash is more necessary right now. Attached is a photo of this DME. I can probably find the emailed receipt from RPM as further proof of trust.

Hmmmm.... So you decided you had am extra $900 to blow on a dme who's main purpose for existing was to eliminate any downtime on your car while you wait for this dme to be custom tuned and the ews deleted.

So does anybody else out there find that a bit odd of a choice in putting $900 towards? Not only is it wasteful but still makes no sense
