2004 325CI E46 AUTO Cluster Swap- HELP

My girlfriend bought this car from a mom n pop dealer in Miami who claims to have a "Full Warranty" on all their used vehicles. Their warranty is parts at their cost and $60/hr labor.. screw that. I have had nothing but problems with the car but slowly fixing her up the right way.

With that said, a few weeks ago the cluster just went dead while driving. The fuses all checked out fine. After weeks of research I know WHAT I have to do..but just not sure the details of HOW to do it. For the record I am NOT trying to lower the mileage of the car. I just don't want to pay $800+/- to the stealership.

I am going to purchase a used cluster to swap out the dead one and I know I can wipe the VIN of the new one but how do I copy the miles and VIN from the old one and transfer it to the new one without having an annoying tamper light on?

Thank you in advance

if your going to wipe them and change the vin then you shouldnt get a tamper dot. the dot comes up if the vins dont match. if you fix the vin then it wont come up. and if you have the software it will tell you the ecu vin and the lcm vin.
