My convertible top only locks/unlocks

Hi Guys
I recently started having issues on my convertible top. When I attempt to open it, It only raises an inch or so to unlock the latch and stays there. When I close, it locks the latch back without issues. But thats it. It doesnt open all the way. It doesnt give any warning light like it should when it doesnt complete the cycle, either. I disconnected my battery for several hours hoping the system resets itself but unfortunately not. Any suggestions?

You properly have a bad motor pump. I have the same problem pump is very expensive 1,200 plus labor.

As I mentioned to Frankq2821 in another thread, search the threads at the top marked READ ME. There is a bunch of very good information in there. I know some of you guys may be new to this vehicle but all the information you need has more than likely been worked out before. Do a search.

Anyway, Frank1974, your problem is probably not the pump if I'm to guess. I have had that problem before too and that sounds more like a broken wire above the drivers side window. Sometimes the latch will open and unlock but the signal to let the CVM know that is done, it doesn't get it so it stops. If you re-latch the top you won't get a light sometimes indicating that it didn't complete because now it is latched close.

When you press the button to drop the top and it stops by itself, you should have a flashing red light. If you then press the button to put the top up it will finish the cycle and the flashing light may be off. It all depends what is going on. I suggest you read some of the links stuck to the top here and do a little more research on the problem. There have been others with the exact same problem before. Don't go thinking the worst problem first.
