Cold start knock from Vanos area

Dear all,

Recently purchased a '99 328 with only 63xxx. Since the wether has changed: noticed a knock after starting approx. every 5-8 seconds. I'm 90% sure its coming from the vans area. You can hold your finger to the valve cover over the vans and almost feel the knock.
After the car is warm it is still there but much less obvious.

I am concerned as today I changed the oil and filter. Removed the filter and had some gold in the run off and the only video online while looking for the same sound to diagnose the knocking problem was a guy who ended up having bad rod end bearings.

Any help would be appreciated thanks this is the video
