3.46 Diff swap on 323i

Im thinking of doing a diff swap on my 323i 5 speed. I am unsure on a few things though. Can you use a diff from an automatic car on a manual transmission? Does the diff from 325 or 330s fit onto a 323i drive shaft? Do any other car diffs fit on the 323i? What would be the best place to get a 3.46 diff? or a 3.38 diff?

Welcome to the forums!

stick with a 3.46 because it will be a direct bolt in. This is about a 13% gear improvement, at 65 mph you will see about 340 rpm more. From a performance stand point, you want this mod.

Mods: Header, CAI, Shark, Koni Sport Struts, Rob43 9 Way Shocks, Big Sway Bar, Special Lowering Springs, 3.38 Diff, PFC Z-Pads, 75 Shot Of N20

E46 M3's are just tasty snacks i eat for lunch.

stick with diffs from 03/01 build date (I believe anyway) and below. The bolt pattern for the driveshaft changed from (or to) 4 bolt to 6 bolt
