My Ride: 2001 316ti compact
A lot of issues

right i just bought a 2001 e46 316ti compact as a project car and it has issues.
so far ive found out
car siren is constantly going off
key fob dont unlock or lock car doors and wont open the boot (trunk)
console button dont unlock it either
head unit dont work
window wipers dont work
window washer dont work
thats all ive discovered so far .

i know its bad but ive disconected the battery to save my neighbours from banging on my door at 2am

PLEASE HELP with any ideas of what could be causing all of this

Alarm going off may be due to the faulty hood/bonnet switch, disconnect the hood/bonnet switch and see if the alarm stops going on.

Keyfob may be bad, you need to have it tested to see if it is putting out signals.

The GM5 module or relays may be bad, www.bmwgm5.com

But before you go down the path too far, make sure you inspect and check for blown and misplaced fuses as this may be part of the problem.
