Enjoy Petey. It's a great looking Touring. What's first on the mod list? The S54 engine swap at the top? I hope to get the S54 into the project list in the next couple of years.

First things first, overhaul the cooling system. At 145k miles, the cooling is stock believe it or not. I'm going to treat this as a ticking time bomb for now and drive my F30 until I get all the parts and get busy.

Could you tell us of the benefits you've experienced so far of the wagon's utility ? Like have you gone fishing yet ? (before/after)

My dd was a Nissan Murano. With the new wagon, I took home a nice haul of goods from Ikea. Tomorrow I plan to load up my Boxer's create and take her to the vet.

With my Murano, I used to get tight when I would take a sharp turn at high speeds. Problem no more!

Took my wagon today on a 200 mile run to an appointment I had. I am pleased every time I use it on how it handles and runs. Mine is the 5spd stick with 65,000 miles on it and I put the 325ix ratio differential in it right after I bought it. Made it a nicer freeway cruiser. I most always leave my rear seats down and with my bad back, the rear deck makes it damn easy to haul stuff. NICE FIND!

^^^^ this, plus being able to fold down the seats for long/tall items. the rest of the time when there is nothing in the back, it is nice to be able to haul ass like a sedan and take turns like a sedan. the wagon's funky gear ratio took some getting used, especially if you are coming from another car with a similar engine (E39/E46).

Yeah on the gearing of the stick shift wagons... I am looking for a 6 speed for mine. The automatic has an overdrive, the 5 speed stick, 5th is not an OD. It is 1 to 1.

Getting parts to overhaul the cooling system. Until then, she'll be garaged

Driving my wife's F30 is not as fun as the E46..

Probably for the best. I also replaced my oil filter housing gasket when I overhauled my cooling system. I was halfway there and it was leaking so why not. I did both of these the first month I bought my car for the same reason as you... Ticking time bomb IMO.

Enjoy!

Get the lower pressure cap to help avoid the plastic surge tank from exploding.
