2001 325ci starter issue, starter clicks but was tested and works

Hi guys,

I'm in the process of wrapping up a swap in my 325ci. Lower-mileage M54 due to abuse on the last motor from the previous owner... Got everything assembled and double-checked, went to fire, and I'm having issues with my starter after swapping it over to the new motor. I get a single click, and then nothing.

This led me to remove the starter from the car and have it tested. It preforms perfectly, in great shape. The unit is wired correctly and every point of contact is tightened. To my knowledge the starter is aligned properly. It is torqued into place correctly seated on the pin. I had the battery tested and it's fine and fully charged. Everything in the car is getting power, interior lights, headlights, ect. I assume the starter is getting power as I can hear the mechanisms move, causing the click. My next step is tracing the two small wires from the starter to see if the connection became loose somehow.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
