Another lifter tick thread, thumpy exhaust E46 330i

Hi all!

I'm new to the E46Fanatics forum so take it easy

Basically I'm having a nasty lifter tick issue.

Car is a 2001 330i with a 133,XXXkms on the clock one previous owner before me. Engine is quite pristine on the inside (seen when changing a valve cover gasket not too long ago)

It started out as light ticking I tried the lifter bleed procedure and it went away. Due to me believing it was a blockage I then changed the oil to a LL-01 approved 5W-40 oil with a fresh filter and an engine flush with Liqui-Moly Engine Detox. The noise came back after driving it about 30km or so this time much louder and accompanied with an exhaust thump.

I've connected it a DIS computer and saw no codes
I tried deactivating one cylinder at a time via the injector (using the computer) and the spark plug noise still there
Tried the bleed procedure again Nothing
Tried listening via a stethoscope/ol' screwdriver to the ear trick and it sounds like its coming from piston 6 (rear of the engine) exhaust side.

Could this just be a really stuck lifter or am I looking at something more serious? Would replacing said lifter rid me of this?

Any opinions/info would be much appreciated.

Video attached is the sound from the exhaust and the VERY loud lifter tick (apologies in advance for the bad snapchat quality it is the only video I have of the sound atm)

I solved a similar lifter tick by adding ATF to the oil already in the car. The tick went away in less than a week. I didn't measure but would guess I put in two ounces.

Did yours sound as bad as this? I feel like mine has progressed to a little more than just a blockage.
As I just did an oil change, do I need to change my oil soon after adding the ATF? or is it safe to run with it over the life of the oil?

Hard to say for sure based on the video, but mine was louder. I have not yet changed the oil and am running fine.
