Ribbon cable mirror problems.

Hi everyone, I have a 2004 e46 with the ribbon cables in the mirrors. The motors are broken and to buy another set of motors with the ribbon cable is too expensive. Can I fit an older model e46's mirror motors to my facelift e46? Thanks!

No, but what do you mean by broken?
I fixed mine. Drivers side had a corroded trace under some of the fabric tape, soldered a thin wire to bridge past the corroded place, and now *both* work.
See build thread in sig (touring is link) for a couple pics that might help.

Thanks for the feedback! There is a part in the motor that is physically broken. Getting a new mirror motor seems like the only way to fix this. Looks like I'll be scouring ebay for deals then!

I've seen a couple recently for $75 and $175 that were ribbon mirrors on ebay
