Ignition Coil & Spark Plug

I have a 2002 325xi. Check Engine light came on Saturday and car started running roughly. Last time it happened, I took it into an indie shop and they replaced ignition coils 1 & 3.

Decided to try fixing it myself - so I took it to AutoZone, and they checked the check engine light, to find out that the problem was ignition coil 4 and spark plug. After purchasing the parts then and there and replacing them myself (with the help of youtube), I drove it around a bit and it was still running roughly as if I hadn't fixed anything. Loss of RPM's and power.

Is it possible that I have to replace more spark plugs? Could the loss of #4 caused others to go as well? How do I test it out at home?

I will mention that the spark plug I changed was WAY gone - even the guy at Autozone commented on how bad it looked. Maybe other plugs are in just as bad of shape.

I think it's a good idea to check the other plugs. You might need to reset the error before it starts running normally. Did AutoZone reset the code?

You will need to reset the code and run the car again to see if it comes up again, then you do a new scan.
