My Ride: BMW 320cd M Sport
E46 320cd facelift model Bluetooth connection to Apple Iphone

Hi all,

Currently new to the BMW scene and have come across this forum a fair few times in an amid search of an answer to connect my I-Phone to the bluetooth on a BMW 320Cd M Sport 2005 Face lift model.

I've recently bought the car a few weeks back and as per the previous forums it has the speaking man on the steering wheel however after looking through several posts people keep referring to a bluetooth button under the arm rest. Having looked at this area for around an hour i cant find anything!

The forums have identified that the code for pairing will be on the bluetooth box which is located within the boot on the left side behind some carpet, but one item i'm facing with is that my phone doesn't even pick up a bluetooth signal of the BMW.

Am i missing something or what advise can you guys give.

Thanks in advance for reading the long post!

Almost all E46 have the phone buttons on the steering wheel, but few E46 actually have factory installed Bluetooth.

Many of the later E46 did not require a physical "Pairing" button.

Need to know the year of the car to start with.

You can try to press and hold the "Talking Head" button and see if you get any voice prompts, this is on clue to a possible factory Bluetooth module.

Do not know what the European delivery cars typically had.

In North America Bluetooth was rare until 2004-2005 model year vehicles.

Car probably does not have BT.

Here is North America 2005-2006 years with BMW Assist typically had BT as part of the BMW Assist module.

Time to look for the TCM or ULF module in the trunk, but chances your car does not have this.
