Cut TMac some slack. He's just being cautious/OCD about his work--removing the fan, wondering about the right tool for the job. There's certain things you can ham-fist and others you shouldn't. The removal of the fan can be an intimidating thing. Even for my BMW friends who have experience with even engine rebuilds, if I happen to be around, they'll ask me to do the fan for them. It's tight quarters and something that's best done w/ experience.

Anyway TMAC is extremely capable and has proven a high level of E46 enthusiasm that many here should aspire to, particularly new youngins that all they want to do is install wide wheels, intakes, and angel eyes. We need more of this level of purity here. His level of attention to detail and enthusiasm and maintenance is impressive on any level, but especially given his age. He' doing exactly what keeps these cars alive for generations to come. That is the very definition of fanaticism. Keep up the good work, man.
