Taking a long shot here.

I did this retrofit this weekend.

Replaced windshield, installed rain/sensor from 2002 m3, also got the LCM from that same M3 that had the auto setting for headlight.

Did the 4 wires just like you said.

Used NCS expert to mark rain sensor as active.

But it still doesnt work.

If I try to use INPA to read various modules in my car I can ....I can read and adjust seats, cluster, dsc... But every time I try to read rain OR rain/light sensor, I get an error that says module can not be talked to.

Does any one have any advice that can help me get further than this?

Thank you

If its just the wiring....thats pretty easy...4 wires: brown=ground, purple=power, white/red=kbus(tap into any of them), green/brown=Pin #45 in the GM5 54 pin plug

So, I am doing the same retrofit now and in the planning stages. Did you get the auto headlights to work with those 4 wires connected and just the auto wipers are not working?

I wanted to thank the OP jaymemaurice for his documentation on this retrofit. I used it successfully to retrofit my 2002 325i. Very easy and straight forward. Thank you again!
