Call me a rookie (and that's ok because I am) but any real money will be spent on the mechanical and performance of the car not on the trim. AND it looks damn good!
I bought my ZHP trim for $200 on eBay. The passenger rear was dented and needed repair, aka spray painted with black Krylon. I left the dent because its definitely not noticeable. Can definitely find a set if you are patient enough!

Still think under $10 is a bargain for what I got.

Painted trim gets my vote if you're on a budget; Plastidip is not durable enough.

I put carbon fiber vinyl on mine a few weeks ago and it's cheap, easy, and looks surprisingly very good

I had some plastidip and silver metalllizer laying around, and some extra time. I said what the hell and gave it a try. Sprayed a few coats of black, a few coats of silver metallizer, and a few coats of matte enamel. It turned out so much better than I had expected. The hard shell from the matte clearcoat makes it durable. I went at it with keys, fingernails, and various things that might come into contact with it. I left the car outside in the sun for an entire weekend, and it hadn't softened at all.
