I'm adding BG limited slip additive, because I'm getting a loud groaning sound from the back out of my car when I'm at slow speeds and I'm turning. My question is, how would I add the LSD additive? Would I just simply pull the plug and insert where I would the differential fluid? Ty for your help
do you know if it was Redline 75-140NS or LS?
yes to add the LS friction modifier you add it to that same Top plug. Then you need to do a few "figure eights" to get it settled in the plates. You don't want to add too much, maybe a 1/4 of those small 4oz bottle at a time to see.
but first before doing any Friction Modifier I would do a good ten "figure 8s" to see if that fixes your problem. since you just got it back from the shop, maybe they didn't break the new fluid in??
+1. Admittedly my car doesn't have a LSD (2001 325CI.) However, when I did a drain and refill of the differential oil I heard a low level humming/whining for a day or so. It went away. Anyway, give it a little time. As Alex323Ci mentioned you do add the friction modifier through the fill plug on the differential. Just add enough to get rid of the noise. Don't add too much. Good luck.
