Window not going up

I have a E46 coupe, my window won't go up I took it apart I pushed the button to raise it and pulled the window up and the window is stuck no matter how much force it won't go up. The motor makes noise and the fuses are good. Do any of you guys have any suggestions or know what it is?

I have replaced 3 of 4 window regulators on my son's 2002 325i. The plastic spool tends to crack over time, thus causing this issue.

Did you disconnect the window from the regulator? You may need to replace the regulator only and not the motor, although there are some kits out there that sell both as one unit.

I can make the windows roll up if I lock it with the key and hold it, it will roll the window that Won't roll up with the switch. So it could possibly be the switch that's out?

But it goes up when I use the key to lock it without a problem. Just when I use the switch is when it has problems

Try replacing the switch, IIRC they're feather cheap to replace especially on ebay

You can actually switch the switches briefly. That will definitely tell you if it's an issue there, or whether the issue lies within the regulator. Hope that makes sense.

The switches have different plug ins, driver side square shaped and passenger is a way larger rectangle shape
