Closest spring to Sport suspension

Hi all, noob here, spent the last few days reading and reading and reading this site. Great info!

I have a 99 323i non-sport and will be replacing the dampers soon, lined up some yellow koni's that have only been used a few thousand miles. I'm thinking about replacing the springs at the same time, interested in dropping it just a little bit. Ideal would be the oem sports springs, I could wait a while and see if any show up at a good price.

What about aftermarket? The two most popular springs seem to be the H&R Sport and Eibach Pro kit. Any opinions on which would be best for a daily driver? Anything else out there close to OEM sport? Thanks

The closest thing to OEM sport springs are the Eibach Pro-Kit springs.

I am running the H&R sport spring on my E30 325iS as well as my E46 330Ci dd looks great and rides really close to the stock springs that came on the cars!

They are the most popular spring in H&R's line-up Sport Springs will lower your vehicle an average of 1.4-.75 inches for a lower center of gravity improved handling and a more aggressive appearance. Sport springs feature a spring rate that is slightly firmer than that of the OE Sport spring but is still comfortable enough for daily use. Sport springs are an excellent choice for street and occasional track use.

We have the H&Rs for your specific application which can be found here:

Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any questions!

Cheers,

MY Bav Auto springs also offer a ride quality very close to OEM with the advantage of being lower.

Thanks for all the advice

Ended up getting some used Eibach Pro-Kit springs from Tingbro and a great deal on some new Koni STR.T's, Edge Motorworks put them on the car today. STR.T's sounded like the perfect solution. My car will never see the track so the Koni yellows seemed overkill, and it was an easy choice between the STR.T's and the FSD's, the FSD's were $400 more.

I can't really compare the setup with anything else because I've been driving the stock suspension for over 10 years. Gordon at Edge said he was curious about the STR.Ts so he took the car out for a spin and said that the springs and shocks felt good like a good combo.

This will probably be the only "mod" I'll ever make, thanks again to everyone for your advice!

Who said the Koni sports were only for the track?

Jason5driver you're right, Koni yellows are not just for the track. I should have said that if I bought the Koni yellows, I would have them on the softest setting, and I think the Koni STR.Ts are about the same as that.

Jason5driver, here's a couple pics. I think the drop was around an inch and a half on both front and back. Now I'm thinking I need some Type 68 17" double spoke wheels next time I get new tires.
