I should have taken CarMax offer of 17.5k back when I first bought it and I wouldn't be tied down to FL cars but didn't have the rest to pay it off =\\

what would you rather have between a lower mileage not your preferred color combo or a higher mileage with your preferred color combo? What's your budget?

I suggest you wait for the one you want, with the options you want, but once you find the right one you might have to jump on it because good deals go quick.

Wait for the right car. Trust me! Even if that means waiting another 6 months.

So the verdict on this one is a solid NO from the community confirms my search will continue oh lord where is my beloved M3!!
The community is biased. Of course the e46 is going to depreciate with the M4 coming out, yet probably not very noticeably.

Waiting till spring you'll pay more for a sports car, as sports cars and convertibles tend to fetch more in the spring due to demand.

Need to stay somewhat local to trade in vehicle cant be appraised out of state and if the numbers don't work im waisting $ flying and wont be able to purchase..
I know this is hard to hear, as I'm a pretty anxious/compulsive buyer when I see something I like, but it isn't EXACTLY what I want.... but here goes.

Listen to what you're being told. You'll first of all, be completely unhappy with SMG if you already know you don't like/want it. 6-MT is also cheaper to maintain.

BE PATIENT!!! OMFG, this is where I get a little contradictory to my choices, but seriously man, just wait. The E46 M3 isn't going anywhere... Winter is coming/here, so more may pop up for sale.

In regards to the mods.. I'd honestly try to find an unmolested M3, but as long as the PPI checks out, you'll be OK for the most part. MAKE SURE you have access maintenance records!!

Taylor makes a good point about the cost of flying to buy your M3 and driving it back versus repairing/replacing/removing your SMG pump. I know you have a car you're trying to trade in..so maybe suck it up and drive to look at something you're really interested in.

Damn, I feel like I'm talking to my 23 year old self... Good luck bud!

my 25 year old self needs to be happy with my 328i until I can save up some more cash (lost most of my savings with my previous M3 and I wont get burned twice)
I appreciate all the advice and I am definantly going to wait to find a 6MT low mile well maintained example

^ doesnt really matter to me that much but then again I should probably go test drive a 6mt m3 locally before I decide (smg is ''ok'' at best when working properly imo)

20 OTD is a fair price for a car of that mileage if in nice shape. The recent repairs are a definite plus

i wouldnt get anything other then what you originaly wanted, u wil regret it sooner or later, just wait and another one will come up for sale with the 6speed which in my oppinion is the way to go if ur buying a sports car.

fact its from the dealer is a good excuse to stay away. Fact you don't like the colors or SMG takes the cake. Is it that huge of a difference in price between hardtop and coupe? 60,xxx miles for 17k is a dream come true
