Yo J., you're still out in the Lancaster/Palmdale area right? My girl lives in Quartz Hills, so every time I'm out there I feel like I'm going to run into you.

Haha. Technically yes but I'm only out there 1-2 days a week. I usually stay at my FiancÚs house in northridge. Very small town, it may be possible I know your girl. Haha

Switched my routine up a little bit.. Wanted to add a little size while sticking with 5/3/1

Monday- squat (5/3/1), dl (5x10 @50% of training max week 1, 60% week 2, 70% week 3)

Wednesday- bench (5/3/1), oh press (5x10 @50% week 1, 60% week 2, 70% week 3), inverted rows (100 reps)

Friday- dl (5/3/1), squat (5x10@50%, 60%, 70%) oh press (5/3/1)

Loaded carries at the end of each workout. And 50-100 pullups every other day while at work later during the day.

5 yrs ago I'd have pushed through. Now, I just shut it down if I feel any tweak no matter how minor. Not worth it...

Well 5/3/1 is based off your training max (TM) not your actual max, which is 90% of your actual max. As I'm sure you know? So today was 3x3 @ 70% 80% 90%. Which came out to 265x3, 300x3, 340x3+. For deads I used 60% x10 reps @ 255lbs.

This is almost identical to my programming. Except I have a couple more accessory lifts and do my loaded carries and sled work for conditioning on my off days with a little gymnastic work in.

I'll most likely add some extra accessory stuff in once I get used to it.

I've always wanted to try gymnastic stuff. Do you go to an actual gymnastic gym or just do your own thing?

lol, just basic ring, parallel bar and handstand work. Currently I just do my own thing at my gym. Love walking in and having it all to myself when there's no classes going on.

MUCH NEEDED deload week...

Even though I still hit all my reps last week and hit a rep PR each day (another reason why I'm loving this 531 template). I can feel the overuse injuries coming on....

Box Squat- 65%x3, 75%x3, 85%x3
Goblet Squat- 4x15
Suitcase Carries- 2x failure

Probably going to do 100 pullups at work. But spread out over my shift (10hrs) for volume.
