I installed new shocks/struts along with new mounts this summer and used the Meyle ones. My front strut mounts are being extremely noisy in the cold. They squeak badly. It sounds like a rubber squeaking sound. Its driving me insane! Any ideas??
I put new Bilstein HD shocks and struts and ordered Meyle HD as I had heard them to be the most durable mounts. For the first week or so they didn't make any noise.
Then they started to squeak more and more. I took it to the guy that installed them, put some grease and stayed quiet for another two weeks but today they started making the same noise again. It seems to be worse when it's cold.
I wonder if we should make a claim to either our own distributor or Meyle itself as this seems to have become a common problem in the last months. Maybe a bad batch??
I've been out of town. my 20 YO has the mission to by lithium grease today so we can see if that works. I do suspect the Meyles (well, just one as of now). Not sure where to start with asking for a refund, etc. And hate the thought of removing/replacing the struts--what a pain. Hats off to echo46 in the bimmerforum post. He must have it down to a science!
