BMW scanner 1.4 not reading DME all of a sudden

Hi guys,
Today my seat heater started clicking off so I decided to throw the scanner on it (open circuit or short fwiw) but strangely pa soft said under DME. I've had it for months now, never had an issue checking the DME. Knowing some people ran into that problem if the pins weren't soldered together internally and wondering if maybe the solder joint was bad, I hooked it up to my other 325 and DME came up no problem. Tried it back on my car . What is going on? I don't even know where to start here. Help!

Check your battery, could be responsible for both of the symptoms if current is too low.
