Difference between AWD manual transmission and RWD transmission for swap?

Hello, so I had a 2001 bmw 325xi, AWD manual. I ended up buying a 2002 bmw 325i and blew the engine. The 325xi was pretty beat up and needed new suspension and body work and etc, so I took the engine out of the 325xi and put it in the 325i. This 325i is automatic and I was wondering if I could use the transmission out of the 325xi and put in in the 325i, which is RWD. Lemme know what you think or know! Thanks guys!
