Hi! Is it only my problem - my xenonlights are just dying - it's like :censor: moonlight only. The reach of lightstream seems to be OK, but for example in rain I almost can't see the light anymore at all (1999 323i).
I wiped clean the glass lenses (they were dusty & dirty), changed the bulbs, polished the headlamp plastic covers (I hope You understand what I mean) but nothing - light is still very weak. Only reason I can imagine is the bad mirror surface in the xenon module?
Hmm I thought, too, that there must be some kind a problem with voltage, but one local "guru" told me, that the ballast can either work or not. So, he told me BS?
The ballasts become weak over time. The bulbs require a minimum voltage in order for them to light. If the ballast produces more than this minimum voltage, they will light. If it cannot produce it, they will not light.
The stronger the ballast, the better the light output.
Hah, guys, it was not the ballast - reflector bowls were totally burned, matt black surface does really not reflect any light I'll try to chrome-plate them again - it will cost about 80€.
On eurospec car there is only HID lowbeam plus H7 highbeam, no original DRL. When I bought this old car about 2 years ago I installed LED-DRLs, but it was too late already.
Anyway, thnks for helping hand. When I'll get my "new" reflectors in next week (I hope ), I'll add some pictures and comments about light perfomance improvement.
