Only thing about that car is the location. If it was four season daily driven (or even just 4 season driven, forget daily), I wouldn't touch it with a 3 meter electric cattle prod.

I used to live in the northeast. I technically still am the owner of a 1991 Sentra SE-R (original owner), although it's sitting in a field somewhere in east Texas as a spares donor for our old 91 SE-R LeMons car. For those who know these cars, they have a serious cult following for all the right reasons. They are giant killers. I'd still have it in my garage (I'd planned to keep it the rest of my life), but 4 winters in the NE absolutely killed it. The rust is bad enough that it wasn't even worth trying to replace the rotted metal and restore it.

So again, if this car was 4 season daily driven, great spec or no, you can keep it.

My hot take: it looks about 100 times better on factory wheels than it does on whatever those aftermarket things are. I would second Geo's thoughts as well, and add that a 160k-mile E46 with unknown maintenance history that's lived its life in an area with lots of snow and salt makes me highly uncomfortable - the new owner may be purchasing the "build your own E46" kit from FCP Euro to get that thing driving the way it should. At least it's a manual gearbox, so that's one less thing to worry about when compared to an autobox.

That said, it's certainly unique and therefore cool. It's not for me, but maybe for someone out there it's the one.

i love the idea and the fact that someone special ordered it that way, but hate the color on an otherwise stock car, it needs to be more aggressive to work for me.

It's cool for having a rareish color, but french Dakar yellow mustard isn't a really great color to me.
Now monochromatic yellow is a great yellow!

lemans blue, velvet blue, avus blue, are great blues. Atlantis blue is a great blue green, while techno violet & mora metallic, are beautiful purples.
Rub red metallic and electric red are better than imola, imho.

I like the color, but I'm having a hard time figuring out the thought process behind spending over $2k to order it that way and then not also spending the little bit more for leather seats.

Sport, seat heaters, and 5MT are all big pluses, but then the AWD and leatherette cancels those out and just leaves me looking at a car that's priced too high for its mileage and comes from an undesirable part of the country, corrosion wise, that just happens to be in an interesting color.

I love it and it checks all the right boxes for my tastes. But I already have a rusty 325xi sport 5spd I've sunk a bunch of money into.

Perhaps to match your other yellow wagon, in this case a B5 S4?

All they need is the Taxi sign on top, so I guess the vinyl seating makes sense in that case.

I actually prefer leatherette. Excellent texture, yet much more durable than leather with minimal maintenance.

Having had leather and now leatherette, I'm a bit disappointed in the leatherette. Maybe someday I'll find a set of sand sport seats in leather, or will be able to afford to have these reupholstered.
