325ci Coupe Add speakers to rear side panels

Hi all! I got my very first beamer about a week ago.... Needless to say, driving it has been a blast so far. Just about anything is an upgrade over the 2005 Prius I had prior to the 3 series I have the 325ci coupe with the base stereo system. I will be installing a new headunit along with all new speakers and a dedicated amp in the coming weeks. My vehicle doesn't have any speakers on the rear side panels and I'd like to add some to enhance the acoustics. I'm looking on ebay and see I can purchase panels with those cut outs. Will my vehicle have the cutouts behind the panel although the car doesn't actually have speakers there? Thank you!

Not sure how I missed this, but I DO have a speaker behind the driver and passenger seats. This is the panel that I'm looking at, will there be a cutout for the larger speaker under the panel even though the car never came with one?

Hi, I also have a 325 CI and I can confirm that you do have speakers in the rear armrest. Actually, you have two, a mid-bass and a tweeter. The mid-bas is attached to the frame behind the panel(with 3 screws) and the tweeter screws into the arm rest panel.

If you mean by cutout is there a space for the large speaker behind the panel, then yes there is a space already there.

OP, be advised that the OEM amp has built in crossovers. As a result, you'll need to add a total of 4 crossovers to the mix. The front crossovers need to be 3-ways (bass, mid and tweeter), while the tears are 2-ways (bass, tweeter).
