I would just skip on the girdle, the initial issue with our motors and boost that I've read thus far is the head lifting so I'd say the focus should be on proper fasteners; until you're shooting for obscene numbers I would bet you have a lot of headroom with all the hardware you're adding.

Use the ARP for your girdle.

On the fence really, don't ARP not make a stud for the M54 since they had issues with aluminum?

Just scored an ATI damper for the M54 on eBay for 350!

That's exactly the issue, I haven't seen anyone use ARP on M54 or aluminum m52 with success.

The problem is with mating the aluminium head, aluminium block and the way the head and block behave with heat and boost.

Nice pick up on the ATI damper.

Hey, Pole position,

Do you have a part number for the cut ring head gasket and what size did you go.

Cheers.

Been grinding here, motor should be out of the machine shop next week with the bottom end assembled. Plan to get it in within 2.5weeks with the new boost lab turbo. Anybody know where to rent a good set of cam timing tool?

Installed a much lighter odyssey battery and altered the stock bracket with some angled aluminum and rivets, and shortened the steel stay with a a quick cut and weld.

Was going to a "dyno day" event to see where I was, just for the clutch to start slipping on the way to the event. I was at 18psi. Just got worse and worse. It's an ecs lightweight flywheel and m5 clutch setup. I ordered a cheap ceramic 6 puck friction disk to try out. People don't like to sell just the nice discs, only in full kits....

Also have been pulling the headliner to install a fiberglass sunroof delete panel from DTM fiberwerkz. Going for lap time now! Wrapping the pillars in black suede, turning out very well so far, and the headliner in a space themed fabric. Pics to come of that.

I wired up a relay to power the fuel pumps directly from the battery as well. So far it's working great, and the bimmerworld anti-starvation kit seems to be doing it's job. Much better than the stock siphon.

Also have dual oil coolers going into the front bumper ducts, and reusing my current oil cooler after I reposition it, as a power steering cooler (was boiling at the track).

Basically melted the ebc blue pads at the track last time, don't use them! Hoping to change to something better in time for the next round.

Big updates, I am traveling this week, but hopefully will get a few things wrapped up and a video made when I get back of the current progress

Link? Is that with the stock pressure plate or M5?

I didn't have too many issues with the stock M5 setup, but I'm sure glad they showed up before I pull everything apart anyway.

I'm usually not a fan of headliner fabric that doesn't look stock, but that space headliner is awesome!

Thanks!

Motor should be back from the shop next week. Went with King tri-metal Bearings all around. Everything looked good so standard sizing cleared well.
