Nexus 6P... It's a software thing, not hardware.

My 5x brick'd over the weekend. I'm not going to mess around with getting it fixed based on the reviews and complaints I've heard...I really liked that phone though. So now I've reverted back to my HTC One (M7) on Sprint while I sort out getting a new phone through work.

Is the Pixel XL still a solid choice or am I missing something new? I enjoyed the Nexus and lack of bloatware, so Samsung tends to still make me associate bloatware.

This will be on VZ, ATT, or Sprint since my employer will be paying for device and service.

Thoughts?

So far I still really like my Pixel. The reviews on the new Samsung are quite good, though.

S8 camera results are in. TLDR:

Not as good as the Pixel. Better than the iPhone.

Smartphone camera shootout: Galaxy S8 vs. iPhone 7, Google Pixel, and LG G6

The G6 is meh. Software not as good as the Pixel. Hardware not as good as the S8.

Pixel here and I love it. I'm probably not using it to its fullest potential.

I ordered a Pixel XL, 128GB. Should be here early next week if not by end of week.

Damn newbs. Who left the gate to General E46 open again?

Also, I looked up DIAF because I had no idea what it means. Terrible comeback, please try again.

I've installed PureAndroid 7.1 (Nougat) on my ageing Nexus 5.

Runs and feels like the new phones.
Battery life and camera quality drastically improved.

When it comes to Android, I'm in the camp that believes user experience is mostly determined by software.

2GB of RAM was plenty for the Nexus 5X, so I'll happily enjoy the same in my 5 and keep using it till it shatters.

That Nexus 5 is a trooper. One seriously good phone. I still have my old one around as a backup. Honestly, in the event something happens to my Pixel and I need a quick backup in a pinch, I'd grab the N5 over the N5X.
