I was in NYC last weekend and had to hit the local spots to where I was. Also got the opportunity to drink a bunch of beers that don't get distro out here, so that was nice.

At Singlecut, I got to try all their hoppy beers that they had on. I know softly spoken magic spells is pretty popular, so I made a point to try that. All were very good beers, but surprisingly nothing really stood out as amazing. The session IPA looked great, but tasted pretty thin, like many season IPAs I've had.

LIC Beer Project was a great brewery in walking distance to where I was. Their Backjump IPA (pic below) and Fat Cap pale ale were really good.

Lastly, I got to hit Other Half. It was crowded as **** and not a great place to hang out and have a beer, despite the good tunes. Way too many people in such a small place, but it was on a Saturday so maybe that's to be expected. I had a couple including their All Citra Everything, which was fantastic.

Good trip. NYC has a solid beer scene - wish I could've done more but was in town on family biz.

Yeah they release cans on Sat and I visited on a Sat in the afternoon. All cans were gone by the time I got there, but there were still a ton of people there. I'm not a big fan of standing in line to try to get beer before it runs out, so the can releases don't appeal to me...

Here's the NYT article on wait times for cans at Other Half. Ridiculous...

Yeah. What they should do is no proxy online can sales. Removes the big lines
